A Taste of What's On over the Festival Weekend

The Shuck Shellfish Festival has officially opened! Thank you to those who made the Launch a success at the Tide Mill sponsored by Gotelee Solicitors & Infotex and champagne courtesy of Frerejean Freres

Thursday 29th September

  • Pub Trawl – a selection of Beer & Bar food, Fizz & Nibbles will be served up in pubs around the town. Contact michaela@thebridgemarketing.co.uk to join in. No booking needed at the Venues.

Friday 30th & Saturday 1st October - FULLY BOOKED

  • The Shuck Shack by Somerleyton Estate will be serving up a delicious seafood menu at supper time at Woodbridge Tide Mill.
  • Table reservations are between 7.00pm – 9.00pm. 
  • The restaurant is situated over all three floors of the Tide Mill and there will be a small bar offering a range of wines and spirits.
  • Booking is essential so book early to enjoy exquisite food in this very special location. £40 pp.

Saturday 1st October & Sunday 2nd October

  • Up at The Tide Mill & Quayside – Woodbridge 5th Sea Scouts will be serving up burgers in aid of the Scouts. Simpers boat will be up on the quay. Take a delightful walk long the Deben to reach the Shuck happenings at The Tea Hut.
  • The Shuck Weekender - All weekend at The Tea Hut there will be music, licenced bars and goings on for the children, including a children’s menu served up by The Tea Hut. Sit and relax at The Eating Plaice to enjoy an exciting collection of seafood inspired dishes such as deconstructed Moules Frites (courtesy of Somerleyton & Hot Chip), Bubble & Squid, Paella and more including non-fishy alternatives. This year sees the introduction of the ‘pick and cook’ stalls, buy your fish at Simpers and have it cooked next door by The Crown! (Please note: this is not an external stall holding event.)

  • The East of England Co-Op will be at the Festival on Saturday 1st October. Enjoy samples of seasonal Sourced Locally apple and pear juices, Free prize draw competition with the chance to win a Sourced Locally hamper and talk to the East of England Co-op team about their new store in Woodbridge and the Society.
  • Circus Petite will be here ahead of their performances at Woodbridge Rugby Union Football Club (1st & 2nd October, 3pm and 6pm), running circus skills demos and workshops between 11am and 2pm on both days. You can also pick up tickets to their performances too!

The Tea Hut have sponsored free music all weekend - on Saturday you can enjoy acoustic live sets on the decking, including an open mic set. 

Saturday 1st October 

  • Psychedelic SHUCK with DJ Ben Osborne, at The Anchor, Woodbridge. 

The Anchor is hosting a special Shuck Festival version of the popular Psychedelic Shack nights that have been jumping and bumping at the Tea Hut over the summer. Come down to the Psychedelic Shuck. Featuring psychedelic soul, funk, space disco and cosmic house, mixed on vinyl by DJ Ben Osborne, whose London residencies include Big Chill Bar and National Portrait Gallery.He is also the founder of London based Noise of Art electronic music collective and the last time he played at The Anchor people were literally dancing on the tables - although we're not sure if that's within the health and safety regs...

Sunday 2nd October

The Tea Hut have sponsored free music all weekend - on Sunday jig along to the sounds of Blue Bus Tour, Peter Hepworth, Deben Collective, Shadows in the Shade, Aartwork and Jim Radford - who will turn 89!

The Tide Mill Living Museum will now be open on Sunday 2nd October. OPEN FOR FREE to the public, all day from 11.00 am – 5.00pm with will be a FREE Tide Mill tour at 3pm. Make sure you wander down and step inside this iconic building, one of two working Tide Mills in the country.

*Splat Messy Play at The Shuck 2016!

Your little ones will have fun painting their hands & feet, splashing water, and so on - and best of all we clean up the mess!

Splat is bringing an Under Water theme, among others, to this year's Woodbridge Shuck Festival. It's under cover and just £3.50 a session. Bring a spare change of clothes and towel as the little ones get messy!
